By using the latest information technology software and continuing with the development of our advanced computer programs we will assist The Mortgage Bureau Centres with their assessments.

With continued improvements, which include obtaining better conditions for the largely untapped rural property loan market, as well as obtaining loan deals with property developers, regularly researching new government and financial institution initiatives and using effective, advanced marketing techniques, TMB is confident that with the national growth in both rural and suburban areas we will be a major market force in a short period of time. The lending institutions subscribe to the database used by The Mortgage Bureau and pay a commission for successful loans referred to them. This innovative structure not only assists borrowers, but gives previously retrenched bank staff and others the opportunity to start their own small business in the field that they have spent the majority of their working lives. The Mortgage Bureau has enabled and assisted over 50 small businesses to set up in NSW, ACT, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland since 1995. With over 200,000 staff retrenchments in the banking sector , The Mortgage Bureau offers continuing employment, particularly for those in the 40-55 age group.

TMB is constantly negotiating with lending institutions so that we can offer our network partners the largest number of deals amongst our competitors and reap the financial rewards.

The Mortgage Bureau is constantly liaising with marketing consultants in various states and territories to ensure the best possible ways to target consumer awareness. Currently television, radio and print campaigns are being used to promote our services across the country.

TMB is increasingly gaining the support of business networks such as solicitors, accountants, real estate agencies, valuers and conveyancing firms.

National 1800 Number - 1800 505 530

The Mortgage Bureau has been successfully utilising its national Freecall 1800 number service. A prospective borrower need only dial the Freecall 1800 number to be connected to their nearest Mortgage Bureau branch around Australia. The Mortgage Bureau's national Freecall number is used extensively in corporate advertising.

Lending Training

TMB is committed to ensuring adequate and comprehensive training for all of its operators and to this end, franchisees and new TMB Mobile Mortgage Analysts are required to attend a 5 day Induction and Orientation Training Course at its Training Centre (Sunbury Lodge) in Nabiac, NSW. (near Forster)

The initial training will consist of

  • The Company structure, strategies and goals
  • The role of Mortgage Bureau offices
  • Setting up and operating as a mortgage analyst
  • Lending application assessment
  • Loan basics (Stamp duties, Mortgage Insurance, LVR, DSR etc.)
  • TMB's required paperwork
  • TMB's lending software training
  • MIAA accreditation - Comprehensive
  • Marketing - Basics

All training is held at The Mortgage Bureau's Training Centre at Nabiac NSW and will include speakers from a variety of lending institutions to introduce and provide accreditation training for their loan products. Full accommodation and meals are provided onsite.

Further training for a career in finance is available through Tafe Certificate 1V. People working in and providing services to the mortgage industry will learn:

  • Mortgage industry fundamentals - products, participants, processes.
  • Economic and legal considerations
  • Financial analysis skills - credit, valuation, financial statements.

Additionally you will be required to meet individual state or lender requirements

Conclusion

The Mortgage Bureau is positioning itself to become the market leader in mortgage origination for a vast range of lending institutions in this country. TMB has positioned itself to fill the yawning void created by traditional banks closing branches throughout our country.

With the introduction of electronic funds transfer at point of sale (EFTPOS), traditional banks are structuring their business to deprive themselves of access to real people. TMB comprehensively disagrees with this strategy and believes in conventional wisdom. That is to say that people want to talk to real people face to face. Borrowing is a sensitive and personal issue.
